Spring maintenance work kicks off in April and that means motorists will be observing a lot more activity on East Kootenay highways.

Mainroad aims to perform East Kootenay Service Area maintenance during off-peak traffic periods and the regional highways contractor asks motorists to be cautious of cone zone areas, and to obey signs and traffic control where crews are working roadside.

“Remaining safe is a joint responsibility.  When you see our crews, please slow down and drive with extreme care.  Stay alert, minimize distractions, and show respect for crews at work for you,” said Mainroad East Kootenay Contracting Ltd. General Manager Andries de Witt.
