Boom, like that, the Nitros advance

A thrilling Eddie Mountain Division final has come to an end, with the Kimberley Dynamiters digging themselves from a 3-1 hole against the Fernie Ghostriders to advance in the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League (KIJHL) playoffs in seven games.

Trystan Self made 36 saves, and Christian Mealey’s fifth of the Teck Cup championships gave the Dynamiters a 1-0 victory against the Ghostriders.

This is the seventh straight season the Dynamiters have captured the Eddie Mountain Division championship.

Creston Valley Thunder Cats also fell to the Beaver Valley Nitehawks in overtime and are eliminated from the playoffs.

The Neil Murdoch Division champion Nitehawks now faceoff against the Dynamiters, with a games schedule soon to be determined.
