Celebrate 50 years of learning at COTR’s Open House
College of the Rockies (COTR) is opening its doors for its annual Open House on Wednesday, November 5 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Cranbrook Campus.
Prospective students, families, and community members are invited to connect with faculty and current students, see samples of some of the state-of-the-art technology used in classrooms, and to learn more about the college’s programs.
As part of the college’s 50th anniversary celebrations, visitors will also have the chance to see images highlighting five decades of impact, growth, and community connection.
“We’re proud to celebrate 50 years of inspiring learning and supporting our communities,” said Michael Crowe, President and CEO. “The Open House is the perfect opportunity to learn more about the incredible programs and meet some of the people that make College of the Rockies such a special place to start – or complete – your education.”
Attendees will also have the opportunity to win exciting prizes, including a $1,000 tuition award and to have their application fee waived.
QR codes will be place around the event, providing the option to contribute $50 to the college’s 50th Anniversary Emergency Bursary for students who face unexpected financial hardship during their studies.
Visitors are also invited to donate any unwanted clean and chip-free mugs to the college’s Sustainability Committee. The collected mugs will be added to the campus “mug library”, a creative initiative aimed at reducing the use of disposable cup and supporting the College’s commitment to the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals.
The Open House is free to attend but pre-registration is encouraged at cotr.bc.ca/open-house.
