Cranbrook SAR rescue hiker off Fisher

Cranbrook Search and Rescue (SAR) members today rescued an injured hiker on Fisher Peak.

SAR was activated for an injured hiker up Fisher Peak suffering facial injuries and abrasions from sliding on the snow about 100 metres.

A team of four SAR members responded to Big Horn Helicopters and flew up to the mountain and was able to land 60 metres below the injured subject. The injured person was brought down to the helicopter with assistance from the SAR members. They were transported to East Kootenay Regional Hospital and handed over to BC Ambulance Service, SAR reported this evening on Facebook.
