Creston Autism Awareness tourney a success
Z-KO Construction Ltd. is proud to announce that its Autism Awareness Ball Hockey Tournament fundraiser was a great success!
“We were able to raise enough funds to cover the costs of an assessment for one family who has a child that has been wait listed. Please contact us if you have a child or know of a child that has been wait listed for an autism assessment. We will keep all names confidential,” reported Melissa Walmsley of Creston.
“We’d like to take this opportunity to thank Edmond Chiu of We-Grow BC Ltd. who generously came forward to cover the costs for this fundraiser!”
We would also like to thank the following business and Individuals for their donations and help that made our first fundraiser a success!
Baillie Grohman Winery; Catherine Groot; Cody Franson (Chicago Blackhawks); Comfort Welding; Danika McCready; Gillian Kemle/Glenden; Lawrence Home Hardware Building Centre; Jimmy’s Pub; Northtown Rentals; Pyramid Building Supplies; Robert Rotar Excavating; Skimmerhorn Winery; We-Grow BC Ltd.
Thank you to the following businesses for putting teams together to play in the event. Abracadabra Plumbing – Zane Peck Kootenay Crate Company – Chad Curtis Wobshall Mayday Electric – Tyler Mailhot.
And a special thanks to our crew and the other players that came down and participated playing in this event. We wouldn’t have had a fundraiser without your participation! In a world where you can be anything, ‘Be Kind.’
In closing, any families that are waiting for an assessment, please note that in B.C. the government funded assessment for this region has a one to two year wait list. The older the child the longer the wait. They prioritize it by age. It should be by needs.
“This was Z-KO Construction Ltd.’s first Autism Awareness fundraiser. We will be doing this every year. Together we can make a difference. In not just one child’s life, our hope is to help more with further fundraising efforts. We are still accepting donations,” said Walmsley.
