EKFH Starlite Campaign raises over $800k

Thanks to the incredible work of our donors and supporters, this year’s East Kootenay Foundation for Health (EKFH) Starlite campaign was the most successful one ever.

In total, over $800,000 was raised for health care priorities across the East Kootenay.

The campaign started off with $150,000 raised at the annual Denham Ford & Kootenay Columbia Home Medical Equipment in partnership with Elk Valley Resources Starlite Ball hosted at St. Eugene on November 1. The event brought together businesses, donors, supporters, and the Cranbrook Kimberley Hospice Society in support of their plans to build a hospice home for the East Kootenay.

Thank you to all our event sponsors, auction donors, volunteers, and attendees for the incredibly successful night.

The remaining $650,000 was donated by donors from across the region and beyond in appreciation of the hard work and quality of care of our health care teams and in support of several different health care priorities.

Nearly half of the funds raised were directed towards our partnership with the Cranbrook Kimberley Hospice Society to build a hospice home for the East Kootenay.

Other funds were donated towards the purchase of a second portable ultrasound at the Golden & District Hospital, oncology care upgrades at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital, and in support of the hospitals, health care centres, and long-term care homes across the region.

Donors also showed support for the expansion of JoeAnna’s House in Kelowna. This expansion is adding ten much needed new beds to the home away from home for residents from across the region who are travelling to Kelowna to support loved ones receiving care at Kelowna General Hospital.

Because of you, we are making a real and lasting impact on healthcare across the East Kootenay region. Thank you for standing with us and making Starlite 2025 one of the most successful ones yet.”
