Fernie Show ‘n’ Shine sunny success

Sunday saw the return of a Fernie favourite – The Show ‘n’ Shine.

Victoria Avenue closed to regular traffic was made even more beautiful by the arrival of over 30 restored and gleaming cars and trucks.  They ranged from a 1985 Mustang to a 1958 Edsel Citation.  Visitors and residents visited the downtown centre to see the  great selection of vehicles.  We were also fortunate to have the Fernie Fire Rescue, 1928 Studebaker.

Special thanks to Larry Sebolsky and Len Serwatkewich who provided invaluable support and guidance.

One of the key objectives was to showcase these vehicles and profile Fernie as a wonderful place to visit; coupled with the Wapiti Music Festival, BibBity BobBity Boo and the Wam Bam Dirt Dump Jam all bases were covered.  By working together, the community created a fantastic weekend and many of those attending told organisers they’d had a wonderful weekend and are looking forward to returning to Fernie.
