Firefighters rope rescue injured motorcyclist
Members of the Jaffray and Elko Fire Departments responded to a single vehicle incident on Wardner Fort Steele Road this morning (August 4).
Eleven members responded with five pieces of apparatus after a motorcyclist hit gravel, left the roadway and went down a steep embankment.
Firefighters completed a rope rescue and the patient was transported by BC Ambulance to East Kootenay Regional Hospital for assessment and treatment.
RCMP also attended the scene, and the roadway was briefly closed to allow crews to work safely.
