French language services support funding deadline Feb. 14

The provincial government is extending the deadline to apply for one-time funding to support projects to improve the lives of French-speaking British Columbians.

Non-profit organizations have until Feb. 14, to apply for part of the $250,000-investment to implement initiatives that will enhance services in French and promote the linguistic vitality of the province’s French-speaking community.

The funding is part of a five-year commitment made in Budget 2018, totalling $1.25 million for French-language services.

Over the past two years, the funding has supported projects in areas such as health care, mental health, early learning, environmental protection, historical records preservation and making the province more inclusive.

The application form and further information about the funding, including eligibility requirements, are available through the B.C. Government Intergovernmental Relations Secretariat.
