Friday Highways Report for the East Kootenay
A look at DriveBC highway cameras makes it look East Kootenay roads are mostly dry and in far superior conditions this Friday (March 8) compared to the past few weeks.
While the cameras show sunshine and clear roads, DriveBC is still alerting drivers to black ice on Highway 93 in Kootenay National Park, as well as winter driving conditions and slushy conditions throughout the rest of the region.
Please drive with an eye out for rapid changes in highway conditions.
Highway 3
Slushy sections between Sparwood and the Alberta border. Winter driving conditions. (Pictured above)

Highway 3/95
DriveBC reports winter driving conditions from six km west of Curzon Junction to Cranbrook, as of 12:57 p.m.
Highway 3/93
It also reports winter driving conditions between Cranbrook (pictured above) and Elko.
Highway 43
Slushy sections between Sparwood and Elkford. Winter driving conditions.
Highway 93
DriveBC this afternoon is still reporting winter driving conditions between Highway 3/Elko and Montana border.
Black ice between Radium Hot Springs(Pictured above) and Alberta border. Compact snow. Watch for slippery sections. Winter driving conditions.
Highway 95
Winter driving conditions between Highway 3/Curzon Junction (Pictured above) and the Idaho border but the report is from this morning (March 8).
Watch for slippery sections between Radium Hot Springs and Golden.
Highway 93/95
Slushy sections between Highway 3/Cranbrook and the junction of Highway 95A/Ta Ta Creek.
