Friday Highways Report for the East Kootenay

Kootenay Pass, Highway 3, earlier this afternoon.

The roads into and out of the East Kootenay appear to be as nice as they’ve been in many weeks, with sunshine and warmer, seasonal temperatures prevailing throughout the region.

Before proceeding, we note the DriveBC highway updates shown this afternoon (3 p.m. Friday, March 15) are from this morning. With that in mind, it is a picture of what you can expect in the mornings right now.

And it shows that drivers need to continue to be aware of sudden changes, with newer hazards such as water pooling appearing.
