Frost and black ice time in region
Mainroad Report
It appears that we may see some heavy wet snow late in the week, accumulation won’t be much more than two to three centimetres from the looks of the forecast.
Temperatures are expected to be in the +3C to -3C range, which combined with damp conditions means potential frost and black ice, particularly near sun up and sun down.
Motorists should exercise caution and expect to encounter slippery conditions at any time.
Mainroad crews are patrolling and applying material as required but conditions can change quickly with this type of weather pattern.
As always, watch for highway maintenance equipment, wildlife and fallen rock on roadways and carry plenty of washer fluid. Now would be a good time to install a set of new winter wiper blades as well.
Please report road hazards/concerns to the 24 hour hotline 1-800-665-4929.
