Horoscope for the week beginning Nov. 3
Tip of the Week
The ghosts and ghouls have had their time in this time of the thinning of the veils and ‘all saints’ have come and gone as well. Yet, like all good parties, some invariably linger longer and try to spark a new high even though most have returned home. Yet, the peak point for this annual nightmarish festival, which coincides with the mid-point between Autumn Equinox and Winter Solstice, actually occurs this week. In Pagan tradition, it is called Samhain and it coincides with 15 degrees Scorpio in the Tropical Zodiac, which occurs annually on or within a day of November 7.
Samhain can be compared to the beginning of the last of the main eight phases of the Moon. Both indicate a period of increasing darkness which inclines people to go within, both literally, as in to stay indoors more and psychologically, which implies turning within to reflect upon the past and begin to prepare for the new solar cycle which begins at the moment of Winter Solstice. These traditions, which honour the rhythms of nature, are ancient and globally recognized. Sadly, due to the ambitions of religion, conscious reverence for this natural cycle and their sacredness it inspires was twisted and maligned to be regarded as dark and evil, and observe our relationship with nature now.
While not strictly a Pagan tradition, yet holding a prominent position in this ancient reverence for nature and the natural cycle of the seasons and the sun’s light, astrology too has been twisted and maligned. First, this was done by the church and then by zealous attitudes that emerged with the advent of the scientific revolution about four centuries ago. Despite the many achievements that these revolutions have procured, it may be wondered if we did not unwittingly ‘throw out the baby with the bathwater.’ This may also be described as a consequence of ambition and the results of confusion regarding ends and means.
Nov. 3 – 9
Aries (Mar. 21-Apr. 19)
Your focus now will include finances, investments, and returns on investment. To this end, you are deeply engaged in research and investigation. As well, a dynamic process of negotiation is featured. While you may be sincerely interested in making diplomatic efforts, this ideal may be more difficult to actualize. Proceed as patiently as you can.
Taurus (Apr. 20-May 20)
Life is all about relationships and this is especially true for you right now. Circumstances are pushing you to work harder and give more. Feelings of resentment are likely, you these may go unnoticed by others as you quietly persevere. You are in a process of becoming more grounded and sober. Yet, this is the pre-dawn period.
Gemini (May 21-June 20)
Scorpio time is deep and mysterious and, for you, is generally linked to clearing, cleansing, and healing. Yet, this year you also want to play and exercise your creativity more fully. Cultural interactions will support this focus especially if you are open and receptive to inspiration. Direct your focus to notice and appreciate and to be inspired.
You have entered an important cycle that speaks of creative design. At least some of this energy will be directed to your home and living environment. As well, directly or indirectly, your goal includes relationship harmony and balance. Self-improvement is a wise approach to achieve this because your attitude will be up inspiring you to be at you best.
Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)
A steady wave of confidence is coming ashore and rising as it does. Yet, it is also requiring discipline and focus and this trend will not only continue, it will deepen and significantly so over the coming months. Tune-in, accept and cooperate with this wave of destiny. Rebellious attitudes regarding this evolution will prove self-defeating. Discipline brings accomplishment.
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep. 22)
You have entered a busy cycle and it requires that you attend to many fronts. This is called multi-tasking these days. While it can prove dizzying, it can also prove very creative and inspiring as you connect dots previously not connected and bring long-standing projects to stages of completion. See the bigger picture and get organized.
Libra (Sep. 23-Oct. 22)
Life is all about relationships and money. The financial end can be interpreted like blood in the body and it needs to flow. Ideally, the blood is clean and the flow is steady and rhythmic. Applying this metaphor to your life implies activating a more rhythmic and healthy approach. The time is right to take new initiatives.
You are in a pioneering mood. With Jupiter in your sign, it can also be described as expansive and filled with an appetite for opportunity and adventure. This can be described as risk ventures. Yet, there remains work to do behind the scenes, both literally and psychologically. The psychological part is extra important because if it is out of balance so is everything else.
Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)
A mix of revolutionary and saint may describe your mood of late. The revolutionary wants to break through external restrictions while the saint is oriented to clear the internal blocks. The inner process implies attitudes, perceptions, interpretations, and beliefs. It is your right to choose what these are. The main question is: are they working for you?
Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)
You are nearing the end of a long, deep and complex process. The complexity has been one of letting go, of endings prior commitments and dissolving old relationship patterns. Positively, you have and continue to feel like you are graduating, evolving. Negatively, you feel frustrated and defeated. You can turn the latter by directing energies toward controlling people and circumstances and turning it into self-control.
Something new and big is steadily emerging in your public and/or professional life. It can be described as or even literally manifest as a promotion. The fine print in this deal implies increased responsibility, discipline, and effort. Ideally, you feel ready for this development because ready or not it is occurring.
Pisces (Feb. 19-Mar. 20)
You are in a process of seeing a bigger picture. It may also be described by that wonderful cliché, ‘the writing is on the wall’. In other words, circumstances are pushing you to both step-back and to pay closer attention, simultaneously. Whether this process is a joyful one or not is up to you and this choice is called attitude.
