Scams can target anyone, anywhere, at any time, so it’s crucial to stay vigilant. Here’s how to report scams in B.C.

Kimberley RCMP and E-Comm 911 this morning shared some tips for what people should do if they have lost money in a scam.

Firstly, report it to your local police – either online, if available, or by calling your local police non-emergency number.

If you’ve experienced fraud or a scam attempt but didn’t lose money, report it to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre online or call toll-free 1-888-495-8501.

If personal information has been lost, please also report to Equifax (1-800-465-7166) and TransUnion (1-800-663-9980).
