Injured skier rescued at South Star

Cranbrook Search and Rescue (SAR) was tasked alongside Kimberley Search and Rescue yesterday afternoon to rescue and transport an injured skier at South Star Recreation Area.

After initial treatment, the skier was transported to the parking lot using Kimberley SAR snowmobiles and handed over to the BCEHS ambulance. The skier was then transported to East Kootenay Regional Hospital for further treatment.

Thank you everybody who responded and also everyone who helped at the scene!

A little friendly reminder – In case of an emergency call 911 or activate your SOS beacon ASAP.

Cranbrook SAR is a non-profit organization and fully run by volunteers. Your help and donations are of great help. Please consider making a donation or joining as a volunteer.
