Koocanusa hosting Canadian Wakesurf & Foiling Nationals

Riders from across Canada will converge on Lake Koocanusa in early September for the 2025 Canadian Wakesurf & Foiling Nationals, presented by SWS Marine Group.

The two-day event will be held September 6 and 7 and will feature a new division for Foiling this year.

“We are excited to have foiling back this year and know these riders will add another level of excitement to the line up,” said organizing committee member Loree Duczek.

“In addition to the Foiling, we will have a full roster of wakesurfing featuring skim and surf-style riding including everyone from the young up-and-coming Juniors to the Pros. From big air and technical Wakesurf tricks to wild rides and backflips from the foilers, there will be some incredible riding on display.”

The National Championships will be held at Koocanusa Village and registration is open until September 2 here.

“No late entries will be accepted, so we are encouraging anyone interested in attending to make sure they get registered by the September 2 deadline,” stressed Duczek.

The event will run over two days on a set one-minute course and is expected to attract over 60 riders.

There will be a food truck on site throughout the day, games on the beach, a livestream on shore and a dinner on the Saturday night.

In addition, the SWS Marine Group team will have a 2025 Malibu M230 and 2025 Barletta pontoon boat on site throughout the weekend doing free demos for anyone interested in checking out these two featured boats.

“We’ve had spectators lining the course and cheering the riders on from both land and water and we’d love to see a beach full of people again this year.Bring a lawn chair, go for a boat demo, and  enjoy the music, food, and fun as we celebrate the wakesurf community and support all the riders,” said Duczek.

The National Championship follows the successful SWS Marine Group BC Provincial Championships, which were held in the same location in mid-August.
