Local BC SPCA branch welcomes new manager
The BC SPCA East Kootenay is welcoming a new centre manager.
The animal welfare agency June 22 announced on social media the arrival of Clare Southgate.
“We couldn’t be more thrilled to have her on board, as she brings a wealth of knowledge and experience that will greatly benefit our beloved East Kootenay community,” BC SPCA stated.
“With an impressive background in animal welfare, Clare has made her mark at esteemed organizations such as the Cochrane Humane Society and the Calgary Humane Society. Her diverse range of roles has equipped her with invaluable expertise in animal behaviour, compassionate care, fostering, and volunteer support, among many other areas. Witnessing her dedication to bettering animal welfare and education is truly inspiring.
“Moreover, Clare’s impressive qualifications speak volumes about her unwavering commitment to improving animal welfare. As a Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT-KA), a certified training partner with the prestigious Karen Pryor Academy of Dog Trainers, and a Fear Free Certified professional, she exemplifies excellence in her field,” BC SPCA said.
“Her passion and dedication will undoubtedly make a tremendous impact on the lives of the animals and people in the East Kootenay community.”
