Local brewers earn BC Beer Awards
It was a second and third place showing at the recent BC Beer Awards for two East Kootenay brewers.
Cranbrook’s Fisher Peak Brewing Company captured second place for ‘Strong Ale & Lager’ with its Hellroaring Scottish Ale.
And Fernie Brewing Co. received a third place honour for ‘Kölsch’ with its Tunnel Creek Kölsch 25.
“We are full of gratitude as we wrap up another weekend celebrating BC brewing. We are honoured to be surrounded by people that are not only passionate about creating high quality beers, but also building a community that supports each other and celebrates each win,” Fisher Peak Brewing Company stated on social media.
“We know how much goes into each brew to make not just good beer, but award winning beer! We’re stoked to be bringing home another award for our Hell Roaring Scottish Ale, a huge congrats to Jordon and his assistant brewer Justin for their hard work and dedication. We can’t say all this without thanking our home community of Cranbrook for taking a chance on craft beer and making all of this possible, we’re leaving Vancouver feeling more inspired for the year to come and can’t wait to bring it to you! Thanks for a great night BC Beer Awards!”
