Local KIJHL clubs launch seasons Friday
The 2016/17 Kootenay International Junior Hockey League (KIJHL) season gets underway this Friday (Sept. 9).
Sixteen of the league’s 20 clubs will be launching the KIJHL’s 47th season this Friday, including all three of the East Kootenay-based clubs
The 2015/16 Kootenay Conference Champion Kimberley Dynamiters and the Fernie Ghostriders meet at the Kimberley Civic Centre (game time 7 p.m.).
The Columbia Valley Rockies play host to the Creston Valley Thunder Cats at the Eddie Mountain Memorial Arena. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
On Saturday night the Dynamiters host the Castlegar Rebels at 7 p.m., while the Ghostriders head to Invermere for a 7:30 p.m. inter-division tilt with the Rockies.
