Mainroad East Kootenay Contracting Ltd.ā€™s meteorological service is predicting snowfall of varying intensity, depending on location.

ā€œPrecipitation is forecast to vary from snow showers to isolated flurries.Ā  We expect the mixed precipitation to continue intermittently with occasional clear breaks in most areas, until Wednesday morning,ā€ Mainroad stated in an advisory.

ā€œIn most locations within the service area, we expect precipitation to start overnight Tuesday, falling as rain/ snow showers with isolated flurries, depending on location and tapering off Wednesday afternoon and evening.

ā€œMotorists may notice our units throughout the afternoon and evening.Ā  We will be proactively treating major routes with anti-icing chemicals ahead of the event arriving, where conditions allow.Ā  Our crews will continue applying salt and/or winter abrasive, and performing snow removal operations, where necessary.Ā  Motorists should expect unsettled weather, drive to the prevailing conditions, and prepare for delays caused by the weather.ā€
