An elderly lady reported to Cranbrook RCMP July 18 that an unknown man attended her residence in Wardner and offered to do repairs to her roof. After completing the repair, the elderly lady let the male in for a drink of water and a visit.

Before she knew it the male left the house with the lady’s purse that contained cash and credit cards and identification.

The male described as a skinny Caucasian male 45-50 years of age, gray/blond hair driving a white pickup truck with a ladder in the back.

“At this time this is the only report of this nature police have received recently. However, all residents of Cranbrook and area should be aware and be cautious in dealing with strangers who come to your door offering services,” said S/Sgt. Hector Lee of Cranbrook RCMP.
