Multi injury crash near Moyie under investigation

On January 3, at 5:35 p.m., Cranbrook RCMP with the assistance of BC Highway Patrol, Cranbrook Fire Department and BC Ambulance responded to a report of a collision on Highway 3/95 near Moyie.

Investigation revealed the driver of an east bound GMC Sierra (white) had lost control on a corner and collided with a west bound Jeep Cherokee (gray). The occupants of both vehicles suffered significant injuries and were transported to East Kootenay Regional Hospital.

The highway was closed for several hours due to the initial medical response and follow up evaluation of the scene by investigators, including a RCMP collision analyst.

Icy road conditions were determined to be a significant factor in the crash.

Cranbrook RCMP continue to investigate the cause of the collision and ask anyone with information, including dash cam footage, to contact the police non-emergency line at 250-489-3471.
