Next Ed Talk looks at Sullivan Mine’s past and present
Join in Wednesday, February 28 at Cranbrook’s beautiful Royal Alexandra Hall for an ‘Ed Talk’ on the past and present of Kimberley’s legendary Sullivan Mine.
The talk (7 to 8 p.m.) will feature Teck Legacy Properties’ Senior Supervisor of Maintenance and Projects Ryan Peterson and Social Performance Coordinator Graham Knipfel.
The Sullivan Mine in Kimberley was a lead, zinc, and silver mine that operated from 1909-2001. Since closure, Kimberley has transitioned from a mining community to a booming tourist destination.
This Ed Talk, presented by the Cranbrook History Centre, will share the history of the Sullivan Mine, closure and reclamation initiatives, and provide information on ongoing water management and treatment on site.
Tea and coffee will be served. Registration is free.
