Our April Pink Full Moon will arise in Virgo
By Dan Hicks
Having begun with our March 29 New Moon, Lunation #1265 will, on the evening of April 12, graduate to rise as our April Pink Full Moon, named after the April-blooming showy pink phlox flower. Phlox (pronounced “flocks”) are a genus of North American herbs of the family Polemoniaceae, having red, purple, white, or variegated flowers (illustration: Merriam-Webster.com).
In the constellation Virgo (the maiden), our Pink Moon’s rising and setting times for Cranbrook are listed below; the moon will be near its lunar apogee and is thus 2025’s smallest full moon.
