Public’s help sought in identifying thefts suspect

Cranbrook RCMP is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying a male suspect involved in liquor theft.

A male suspect entered the BC Liquor Store in Cranbrook on September 15, loaded a basket up with high-end product and exited the store without offering payment.

Once outside he immediately fled the area. The suspect was captured on video.

On September 22, a similar theft occurred at the BC liquor store in Kimberley (pictured above).

The theft was also captured on surveillance video, the suspect for both occurrences appears to be the same male.

The combined value of lost product on the two thefts is nearly $2,000.

The suspect is described as:

Male;

Wears glasses;

Brown hair, possibly worn in a ponytail;

Slim build.

“Property crime continues to have a huge impact on our communities,” said S/Sgt.  Barry Graham, Cranbrook RCMP Detachment commander. “Information from the community is crucial in helping us identify suspects and solve crime.”

Police are asking anyone who recognizes this individual, or who may have information related to this incident, to contact the Cranbrook RCMP non-emergency line at 250-489-3471.
