Radium to Spur Valley to go dark for spells on Nov. 5 and 6
BC Hydro requires two planned power outages in Radium Hot Springs on Saturday, November 5 from 8 a.m. – noon and Sunday, November 6 from 7 a.m. – 11 a.m. local time.
The outage is needed during daylight hours and is required to safely complete substation conversion work at the Radium substation.
The Saturday outage will affect customers north of the Radium Substation including Edgewater, up to and including Spur Valley. The outage on Sunday will affect the area directly west of the Radium Substation off Prospector Avenue, the campground south of the substation, the Kootenay National Park not including the entrance buildings, Foresters Landing Road, subdivisions west of Columbia Avenue off Foresters Landing Road and the Canfor mill.
We are taking all the necessary steps to minimize the inconvenience to our customers and will restore service safely and as quickly as possible.
BC Hydro customers will be notified by advertisements in local newspapers and radio ads. Key account customers will be informed directly.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we make improvements in the Columbia Valley to provide even more reliable service in the future.
