RDEK Areas A and G to hold community meetings
The Regional District of East Kootenay (RDEK) will be holding community meetings in both Electoral Areas A and G later this month.
“With two of our long-time area directors retiring from office this fall, these meetings will be a final opportunity for them to meet with their constituents and provide both an overview of the accomplishments during their tenures and an update on current projects of note,” said Loree Duczek, RDEK Communications Manager.
“The community meetings will also feature presentations on our regional firefighter recruitment drive, the FireSmart Program, and more.”
In addition, the Electoral Area A meeting will include a presentation on Angel Flight East Kootenay.
Both Electoral Area A Director Mike Sosnowski (pictured left) and Electoral Area G Director Gerry Wilkie announced that they would not be running for re-election this year.
Sosnowski has served Area A for the past 17 years and Wilkie in Area G, for the past 14.
The Area G community meeting will be held at the Edgewater Community Hall on September 26 at 7 p.m., while the Area A meeting will get underway at 7 p.m. on September 28 at the Hosmer Community Hall.
