Regional builders and designers shine at Keystone Awards
Residential builders, designers, and industry professionals from the East Kootenay were prominently recognized at the 2026 Keystone Awards Gala, hosted by the Canadian Home Builders’ Association Central Interior (CHBA CI), with multiple award wins highlighting the region’s continued leadership in housing excellence.
Held at Thompson Rivers University’s Grand Hall in Kamloops, the sold-out event welcomed more than 300 guests from across the Central Interior and Kootenays.
East Kootenay companies stood out across several award categories, earning top honours for innovation, design, construction quality, and collaboration.
“The East Kootenay continues to demonstrate an incredibly high standard of building and design,” said Chris Crowell, President of CHBA Central Interior. “In a challenging market, the recognition earned by East Kootenay companies this year reflects the skill, adaptability, and professionalism that define the region’s construction industry.”
A total of 26 awards were presented at the 2026 Keystone Awards, celebrating excellence across residential construction, renovation, environmental initiatives, and industry service categories.
All projects were judged anonymously by a panel of 12 award-winning industry professionals from outside the region, with results independently monitored and verified by BDO Canada LLP to ensure fairness and integrity.
The Keystone Awards are the signature awards program of CHBA Central Interior, recognizing excellence in residential construction across Kamloops, the Shuswap, and the East Kootenay. The awards celebrate not only finished projects, but the collaboration between builders, designers, trades, and suppliers that bring them to life.
