RMR opens the Revelstoke Highline attraction

Revelstoke Mountain Resort (RMR) recently announced the official opening of the Revelstoke Highline, a breathtaking new sightseeing attraction debuting Friday, August 22.

Located steps from the top of the Revelation Gondola, the Highline invites guests to stroll through a stunning wooded trail before arriving at a dramatic cantilevered view deck and suspension bridge.

The Highline trail spans 700 metres start to finish, with a 300-metre walk from the gondola to the viewing deck, a 150-metre stretch to the bridge entrance, and a 250-metre return along the exit.

At four metres wide, the pathway provides a comfortable stroll through the alpine forest, setting the stage for what lies ahead. Perched at 1,690 metres (5,545 feet) above sea level, the cantilevered viewing deck offers unmatched views of Revelstoke and its surrounding iconic peaks.

Built from a steel superstructure and anchored directly into the mountainside, it’s the perfect place to pause and soak up Revelstoke’s iconic views. The journey culminates at the Revelstoke Highline suspension bridge, situated 1,250 metres (4,101 feet) above the valley.

Stretching 75.5 metres (248 feet) across two rugged rock outcrops, the bridge delivers sweeping views of the Monashee Mountains, the Columbia River, and the city of Revelstoke far below.

RMR is inviting the community to celebrate this milestone with Locals Day today, Saturday, August 30, from 12 -3 p.m.

The day will feature free admission for Revelstoke residents (with proof of address), along with a barbeque, refreshments, and festivities to mark the opening of this incredible new attraction.

“As we approach the end of a busy summer season, we are pleased to introduce a new attraction to our line-up. The Revelstoke Highline offers an entirely new way for our guests to experience the beauty of the Monashees and the Columbia River Valley,” said Peter Nielsen, Vice President and General Manager at Revelstoke Mountain Resort. “It’s a truly unique and elevated mountain experience that we’re proud to share with both visitors and our local community.”
