Early in the morning of Sunday, May 22, Columbia Valley Search and Rescue (CVSAR) and Kimberley Search and Rescue volunteers worked together in a search for an overdue person in Whiteswan Provincial Park.

The overdue person had miscalculated their fuel level, which resulted in a long walk out prior to being located on the forest service road by search teams, CVSAR reported on social media.

“Luckily, the subject had left a return time with friends or family and being overdue, a search was activated. Everyone returned home safely,” CVSAR stated.

“Remember to pack appropriate clothing and extra food and water when venturing off the beaten path.”
