The following is a summary of board motions carried during the January 17, School District No. 5 board meeting, held in Cranbrook.

Motions Carried

Committee meetings are not scheduled for the month of December. As a result, only general motions were carried at January’s public board meeting.

General

That the Board does not pursue a partnership with the Kootenay Athletic Program, as per their presentations of November 28 and December 16, 2016, and that a letter be sent to the Academy outlining the reasons for this decision

That the board writes a letter to the BCSTA Board thanking them for meeting with our board.

First and second reading of the Amended Annual Budget Bylaw for 2016/17. (By law, three readings of the Budget bylaw must be completed prior to the end of June each year.)

That the Board requests the Parliamentary Secretary to include a regional meeting in Cranbrook in addition to the nine meetings already established.

That the Board sends a response to the Parliamentary Secretary’s comments re: our submission.
