Severe thunderstorm watch issued for region
Environment Canada this morning (June 29) issued a severe thunderstorm watch for the East Kootenay, as well as the Creston area.
“Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts. Hail is also possible. Intense lightning is likely with any thunderstorm that develops,” Environment Canada stated.
Be prepared for severe weather. Take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches. Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors!
