More snow on the way: Mainroad

Mainroad East Kootenay Contracting is warning East Kootenay motorists of an arriving weather system that could bring snow accumulations of five to 10 cm possible throughout the service area.

Temperatures are expected to fluctuate from about -2C to -10C and wind gusts up to 40 km/h are forecasted.

These conditions will remain intermittently throughout the weekend.  Expect winter driving conditions and limited visibility at times.

“De-icing activity will produce slushy conditions at times so motorists are reminded to please slow down and have plenty of washer fluid on hand.  These conditions can produce rapidly changing road surface traction so motorists should leave extra time, drive to the road conditions and be cautious of slippery conditions.,” Mainroad stated in an advisory.

Please check www.DriveBC.ca for the latest road condition updates.

Please call Mainroad’s call centre (1-800-665-4929) to report a concern in your area – all calls are logged and passed onto operations.
