StellerVista returns more than $1M to members
StellerVista Credit Union has announced that it has returned more than $1 million directly to its members and local communities this year, marking a significant milestone for a member-owned financial cooperative of its size.
Guided by its core value of Sharing Success, StellerVista is distributing more than $800,000 in patronage back to members, over $97,000 in dividends paid on member shares, and more than $200,000 in community donations across the Kootenay and Boundary regions.
“In a year where many families and businesses have faced real financial pressure, we’re proud to be able to share our success in such a tangible way,” said Lynnette Wray, Board Chair of StellerVista Credit Union. “Returning more than $1 million to our members and communities is a clear demonstration of what it means to be a local, member-owned credit union.”
The 2025 patronage and community giving announcement reflects one of the strongest years on record for the credit union. “Our results this year are about more than the balance sheet,” added Jody Burk, CEO of StellerVista Credit Union.
“They’re about stories – helping members into new homes, supporting people as they consolidate debt to find a clearer path forward, and working with those impacted by layoffs and sector slowdowns. Those are the moments where our cooperative model and local decision-making really matter.”
The patronage program sees a portion of StellerVista’s annual earnings returned directly to members, based on the business they do with the credit union. At the same time, StellerVista’s community investment program directs funding to local non-profits, events, and initiatives that support quality of life across the region.
