The always different Fort Steele
It doesn’t matter what time of day or the year you visit Fort Steele Heritage Town, you will always see it in a different light.
On the evening of June 30 I had the opportunity to wander around the fort, located outside Cranbrook, pretty much all by myself.
The odd employee walked to and fro but aside from a friendly fort cat who followed me around much of the sprawling site, including down the old road to the river, it was all stillness and rapidly changing light.
Stormy summer weather threatened but never made much of a real fuss.
Here is a look at that beautiful 90-minute wander around one of British Columbia’s finest heritage attractions.
