Travel advisory issued for Highway 3/93
Friday Highways Report for the East Kootenay
DriveBC reports there is a travel advisory is in effect for Highway 3/93 from Cranbrook to Elko.
Winter highway driving conditions due to limited visibility with snow. Watch for slippery sections.
Black ice is also reported on Highway 3/95 between Moyie and six km west of Curzon Junction/Yahk on Highway 3, as well as to the Idaho border.
As for the rest of the region, conditions aren’t that much better as yet another Arctic front barges down upon us, with an Extreme Cold Warning issued by Environment Canada for the Elk Valley, as well as Kootenay and Yoho national parks.
Highway 3
– Compact snow between Sparwood and Alberta border. Limited visibility with snow. Watch for slippery sectionsWinter driving conditions.
– Watch for slippery sections between Sparwood and Fernie and Fernie and Elko. Snowing.
Highway 43
Compact snow between Sparwood and Elkford. Limited visibility with snow. Watch for slippery sections. Winter driving conditions.
Highway 3/93

Highway 93
– Watch for slippery sections from the Montana border to Highway 3 at Elko.
– In Kootenay National Park, watch for compact snow between Radium Hot Springs and Alberta border. Watch for slippery sections.
Highway 3/95
– Black ice from six km west of Curzon Junction to Moyie. It is also snowing.
– Watch for slippery sections between Moyie and Cranbrook. Winter driving conditions.
Highway 95
– Black ice between the Idaho border and Curzon Junction/Highway 3.
– Compact snow between Radium Hot Springs and Golden. Watch for slippery sections.
Highway 95A
Watch for slippery sections between Cranbrook and Kimberley and from Kimberley to Ta Ta Creek/Highway 93/95 junction. Winter driving conditions.
Highway 93/95
– Watch for slippery sections between Junction of Highway 95A/Ta Ta Creek and Radium Hot Springs. Snowing. Winter driving conditions.
– Slushy with slippery sections between Highway 3/Cranbrook and Highway 95A. Winter driving conditions.
Toby Creek Road
Frost heaves between Panorama Drive and Hydro Substation Road for 10.5 km (seven km west of Invermere to Panorama Mountain Resort). Winter driving conditions.
