Two Banff Centre Mountain Film Festival events in 2026

Beloved tradition returns to Key City Theatre in January, followed by a mountaintop 50th Anniversary Summit Screening at Kimberley Alpine Resort in September

Wildsight Kimberley Cranbrook is bringing two extraordinary Banff film experiences to the East Kootenay in 2026, continuing a tradition of cinematic adventure while reaching new heights to celebrate the Banff Centre Mountain Film Festival’s 50th Anniversary.

For more than 30 years, the Banff World Tour has been a highlight of the new year in Cranbrook. Hosted by Wildsight Kimberley Cranbrook as the organization’s largest annual fundraiser, the event brings together outdoor enthusiasts, film buffs, and community members for two nights of breathtaking storytelling and inspiration.

The 2026 screenings return to Key City Theatre on January 2 and 3, featuring two completely different film programs. The theatre lobby and bar open at 6 p.m. for guests to connect with local sponsors and enjoy the pre-show atmosphere with the program beginning promptly at 7 p.m.

Tickets are on sale now through the Wildsight website and the Key City Theatre box office; $30 per night, or $50 for a weekend pass. The event traditionally sells out, drawing film lovers from across the East Kootenay.

Wildsight is currently seeking prizes and financial sponsors to help support this cherished community tradition and fundraiser. Interested sponsors can contact [email protected] for details.
