Wasa resident charged for forgery and fraud

A Wasa resident is facing fraud and forgery charges as a result of a Cranbrook RCMP investigation.

In early November, Cranbrook RCMP entered into an investigation when a local business owner contacted them over an unpaid bill. The business owner advised that she had catered a banquet for 50 people and checks were tendered to pay the bill. When the business owner attempted to cash the checks, she was advised that there was insufficient funds.

After a lengthy investigation Cranbrook RCMP provided sufficient evidence to Crown Counsel for them to approve charges of forgery and fraud against the individual.

Michael Lawrence Gould will appear in Cranbrook Provincial Court on December 18 to answer to these charges.
