Wildfire BC is reporting five wildfires in the East Kootenay this morning.

Four of the fires, still small, are located about 45 to 35 km northeast of Elkford in a 10 km line along the sides of the Elk River Valley.

All the fires are cited as human-caused. In order of fires farthest from Elkford, they are: .3 hectares in size, followed by four ha, .04 ha and two ha.

A fifth fire, about 26 km west of Fairmont Hot Springs, the Branch B White Rock, is now up to 54 ha. All the fires are rated as still active.

All the fires are reported to have been started on Sunday, June 3.

Wildfire BC has not yet released any other details.
