Winter driving conditions prevail

Winter driving conditions are prevailing around Cranbrook and Kimberley and conditions get worse as travellers head west.

DriveBC is reporting winter driving conditions on Highway 3/93 from Jaffray to Cranbrook and through to Creston.

Additionally, there are winter driving conditions on Highway 3/93 to Fort Steele from Highway 3 and Highway 95A from Cranbrook to Kimberley and through to Wasa Junction.

DriveBC reports slushy sections on Highway 3 from the Highway 6 junction to Creston. Kootenay Pass (lead image) is in full winter conditions at this time.

Conditions in the eastern half of the Elk Valley and lower reaches of the Columbia Valley are overcast with highways clear but wet from Canal Flats to Radium Hot Springs.

Please watch out for black ice and drive according to conditions.
