Youth Climate Action Program and Innovation Fund seeks applicants
In collaboration with the Canadian Red Cross, Tamarack Institute has launched a call for applications for a new opportunity for young people aged 18-30, in communities across B.C. and Yukon that were impacted by 2017 wildfires to take part in a nine-month learning journey of workshops and coaching and running their own local climate action projects.
This experience will include a series of bi-weekly workshops with thought-leaders, inspirational speakers and expert coaches in climate, youth and community development and monthly group coaching support. The journey includes an opportunity to create your own local climate action project with funding of up to $5,000 and coaching support through this program.
Duration: March to December 2023.
Application deadline February 28..
Eligibility: Main applicants must be from communities that were in the 2017 British Columbia fire evacuation zones and all projects developed within this program must benefit these communities.
Teammates from other parts of BC and Yukon are welcome to participate as long as their main applicant is from the list of priority communities. List of priority communities can be found here.
Main applicants and their teammates must be permanent residents in Canada or hold Canadian citizenship status.
We encourage applications from equity deserving groups, including Indigenous communities.
Priority consideration will be given to applications from communities that were impacted by 2017 British Columbia wildfires.
