About the Minimum Wage in B.C.

1. The government will be raising B.C.’s minimum wage for a sixth time since 2011, bringing it to $11.25 in 2017.
2. This increase marks an overall boost of 39% in the minimum wage over the past five years, and will mean an additional $1,400 per year in the pockets of full-time workers receiving this wage.
3. With the increase, B.C. is also projected to have the third highest minimum wage in Canada.
