District of Elkford Mayor Dean McKerracher was rushed to hospital in Calgary yesterday, Oct. 30.

The nature of the emergency medical condition is not known at this time. But since the recently acclaimed second-term mayor was taken to hospital it seems as though his condition has stabilized somewhat. An emergency surgery was initially requested but has since been called off.

A recent tweet by district chief administrative officer Corien Speaker noted, “RT @DistrictElkford Mayor Dean McKerracher was hospitalized and is Calgary. Test results are good. Probably won’t need surgery tonight.”

According to most recent reports McKerracher has pneumonia.
