100 Women raises $10k at latest Giving Event

Since its founding in 2020, 100 Women Who Care Fernie has continued to make a meaningful and lasting impact across the Elk Valley, raising over $100,000 in support of local, grassroots organizations.

On November 6, local women came together for the group’s 11th Giving Event, united in their commitment to strengthen the community through collective giving.

Each Giving Event follows a simple, powerful model: every member contributes $100, nominates a local charity, and six nominations are randomly drawn to present at the event. After the pitches, members vote, and the two organizations receiving the most votes share all funds raised that evening.

At the November Giving Event, members collectively raised $10,000, which will directly support two important community organizations: the Elk Valley Christmas Cheer Committee and the Fernie Women’s Resource Centre.

These funds will help both organizations continue delivering critical programs and supports to individuals and families throughout the region.

This event was made possible thanks to the generosity of local businesses and partners, including The Loaf Italian Restaurant, Mountain Luxe Services & Events, Patti’s Party Tent Rentals, SOAR Studios, and Gabbi Escobar Film & Digital Photography.

100 Women Who Care Fernie is dedicated to creating a ripple effect of positive change in the Elk Valley. Through collective giving, members amplify the impact of their individual contributions, build meaningful connections, and provide essential funding to grassroots organizations serving the community.
