Conviction: A Radio Play at Arts Station this weekend
Tunnel Theatre is presenting ‘Conviction: A Radio Play’ this Friday and Saturday night 7 p.m. (Feb. 15 and 16) at The Arts Station in Fernie.
The setting is Crowsnest Pass, 1922. The murder trial of Emilio Picariello and Florence Lassandro is in full swing, and the nation is in an uproar.
In the midst of rising ethnic and religious tensions, an estranged son brings a young woman home to meet his parents-but is all as it seems? And what will their appearance mean for their family’s future, and the nature of Canada itself?
Tempers fray, old wounds are re-opened, and secrets are revealed, in this radio play live-reading set during the 1920s, a time of radical change on the cusp of radio’s Golden Age.
Radio play is a dramatized, purely acoustic performance.
