Fernie taking on Revelstoke in KIJHL finals
The Fernie Ghostriders are heading to the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League (KIJHL) Teck Cup finals.
The Eddie Mountain Division and Kootenay Conference champion Ghostriders will take on the Doug Birks Division and Okanagan-Shuswap Conference champion Revelstoke Grizzlies.
The Riders earned passage to the finals with a six game Kootenay Conference finals victory over the Beaver Valley Nitehawks.
Fernie shutout the Nitehawks 4-0 in before 820 fans at the Fernie Memorial Arena March 30.
Nick Kunyk earned the shutout in Fernie’s net with 26 saves.
On the scoresheet, Riley Enns led the way with a goal and two assists, while Kyler Watson tallied two goals and Coden Fournier notched a goal and a helper.

Fernie last won the Teck Cup in 2008, its second straight championship at the time.
