Flood forces programming cancellation this week
The Fernie Heritage Library basement flooded during the holiday week closure, causing the cancellation of some programming up to Jan. 7.
“We’re incredibly grateful for the fast response from staff, volunteers and the City of Fernie,” library staff stated on social media Jan. 3.
The library is open today, but all programming is cancelled this week (Jan. 3 – 7) as programming space is cluttered with fans, dehumidifiers, and heaters.
“We hope to return to normal programming from next week, and will keep the community updated. Thank you all for your well wishes, patience and understanding.”
