Lantern Festival going Into the Woods
The Fernie Lantern Festival (Nov. 19) wants to transport you to an enchanting forest.
The almost magical event showcases locally crafted lanterns by parade through an enchanted forest in town. All ages welcome to this free event celebrating winter, dark skies, and time with friends and family. Enjoy buskers entertaining you as hot chocolate warms you up and fireworks light up the sky.
A fun community event for locals and visitors. This event is held every two years and this year we are taking on Into The Woods as our theme.
It’s going to be a magical journey of woodland creatures, fairies and a few surprises. Come out and build your own lantern to light your way in the parade with the rest of us! Ideas, guidance and supplies provided for free at The Arts Station. You just need to bring your enthusiasm. You can make a lantern based on this theme or not.
