Summer in full swing at Island Lake Lodge
Summer is in full swing up at Island Lake Lodge.
The snow receded quicker then usual and the wildflowers are ahead of their regular pace – they are in full bloom in the alpine right now!
Après Hike
Island Lake teamed up with Fernie Brewing Co. to create a private label beer this summer. Take a Hike is a refreshing Bavarian style pilsner that is the perfect Après hike beer. The 750 ml bottle is perfect for enjoying the cuisine and views from our spectacular patios.
The label artwork is based on a limited edition poster, created by local artist Mike Hepher at Clawhammer Press. Take a Hike is only available at the lodge, so you will have to go for a visit…
Don’t forget the Bear Lodge is now open 11 a.m.- 8 p.m. Check out the new menus.
New Hiking Trail Announced
Being a well-known hiking destination and all, Island Lake thought it was time to start building a new hiking trail! This new trail will be an alpine loop from the top of the Spineback trail, around Baby Bear Peak and back to Spineback. This new trail will be a great compliment to the already existing 100 km trail network. Stay tuned for more details.
Relax and Rejuvenate in the Spa
Modern life, full of sensory overload and city traffic can leave one simply worn out. Island Lake has a day spa (pictured above), which is the perfect place to relax and rejuvenate. Experience one of their treatments off the menu or one of their weekly specials. Have a look at the menu here
Iconic Photo Spots of Island Lake
There are many great photo spots on the Island Lake property, which is located a short, scenic jaunt northwest of Fernie. They thought they would identify some of them and help their guests experience and share them. There will be 12 spots for summer 2016 and if you take photos of all 12 using the proper tag, you will be entered to win a $1,000 travel voucher for the lodge! Read more and view the map here.
