Captain Troy MacLachlan worked his last shift May 5 with Fernie Fire Rescue.

Troy started in February of 1996 as an auxiliary firefighter and was hired to the career ranks in April of 2008.

Over his 29-year career Captain Mac exemplified leadership, dedication and outstanding service to our community. Troy was passionate about training and mentoring young firefighters. He led by example and challenged those around him to improve their skills.

Troy served on the Executive for Local 2827 for many years and served as President from 2018-2024.
